How much is my '80s vintage Japanese Fender electric guitar worth?

Black with a white pickguard, three pickups, five-way pickup adjuster, whammy bar. It’s an 80’s vintage Jap-made guitar, which someone told me could probably fetch a thousand dollars. Is that accurate, or not? What could I sell it for?

Dude i’d vote for over a grand. but thats mint condition.
I’m guessing Maple fredboard and Fender Pickups?
If you had it for say 4 years its probably around 800
Damages bring it down as you can guess.

But in with luck and a fender-fan, you can get that 1000

Go check ebay, completed items. Odds are it’s gonna be arround $400-$500 depending on the exact model and condition, it may bring $600 if you find the right buyer. The 80’s aren’t a high demanded decade and the Japanese isn’t highly sought after.

I would say that guitar of yours can’t really be classed as a vintage guitar. Goto http://electricvintageguitar.net/what-is-a-vintage-electric-guitar.html and you will see that a vintage electric guitar would be made prior to 1970 and mainly hand crafted. I doubt if a Japanese make would meet that requirement so I would rather say $500.

    Good luck
