I’m going to look at a guitar that I’m interested in buying, its advertised as a fender strat but it is painted with "the frankenstrat" markings, the headstock included. So how will I be able to tell if it is a true fender strat or not just some knockoff? Also how can you tell the difference between a mexican made fender and an american made one? Thank you
Its my uncles old fender strat with a cherry red body and head also black pick guard.Cant tell wich wood the neck is but its light and has a brown stripe going down the neck.Its a litty rusty and dusty too and the back has a bit of paint off of it.
Had some major surgery done to my very first guitar. Now I’ll try it out…with a sweet hat on. At 1:09 I turn on the mid-range boost circuit, which: 1. makes your Strat sound more like a Les Paul by adding 25db of not-so-clean boost. 2. Overdrives your amp a bit, so long as it’s a tube amp and is in the vicinity of breaking up. 3. Is really what you’re paying for when you buy the Clapton model. And 4. Is noisy as hell if you don’t have some sort of hum-bucking pickups like these Fender Vintage Noiseless ones that sound convincingly like single coils, but ain’t. It also comes with the TBX tone control which, so far, I don’t like. Seems to complicate matters unnecessarily. Just gimme the regular tone knob turned to 10. Thanks for watching.
