I did some mod on my beloved Pacifica, during time. Single coils are wonderful, but the pots for the humbucking made them really too spark for singles, and i’ve other strat so i’m not interested in mantain strat tones at any price. So i mount a DiMarzio Cruiser Bridge DP187 on the neck (a bit hotter than the neck version), and did a mod on the push pull selector so now it split the JB and put “bridge on” mod. I unsolder the autosplit of the JB when with middle single coil, because it make very interesting tone (maybe better than with the splitted one, even it plays less stratish). This make the guitar did 9 different tones, 5 original and 4 with splitted ever on JB (position 3 and 4 with this setting play just the same). Except for the Cruiser, is all stock components. Body is alder with maple top. PS you can ear well the 60hz hum when using single coils, because i’m in a front of my mac
